Whoa, I knew that illiteracy is rampant but... zero replies in 4 days? This is even worse than I feared!
Doesn't anyone ever pick up a book anymore? Or just e-bookify articles from Wikipedia and read them as short essays? | | | Baran Keki 土耳其 Local time: 22:20 会员 English英语译成Turkish土耳其语
You read in Czech and Dutch? That's impressive.. a more cynical bastard might consider that a "show off list"
I've recently read Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy (in English, as currently there's no Turkish translation of it). I can't say I've understood/appreciated it much (as much as the 'highbrow' Gen Z hipsters analyzing it on Youtube at any rate).

Let's just say that those are the original titles, and I might or might not have read them in the original.
I'm semi-fluent in Czech for personal and business reasons, and written Dutch is not a big mystery if you master both English and German. | |

The site has been malfunctioning, and I only came across your thread today.
Given the platform's current state, I believe there's very little motivation to visit. It's nearly impossible to use or even browse!
My recommendation for any translator:

I believe in English is: The Backside of Tapestry: Notes on the Art of Translation. In PT-PT: O avesso da tapeçaria: notas sobre a arte da tradução.
P.S.: It took me more than 30 minutes to post this...

I used to be an avid reader, but these days, after a 10-hour stretch as a full-time translator/proofreader and part-time investor/trader, my eyes are begging for mercy. So, I've traded in my spare-time reading for sports and music to keep things balanced. If AI speeds up my retirement plans, though, I'll happily dive back into my reading list... | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Recommended readings Anycount & Translation Office 3000 | Translation Office 3000
