very useful tip, thanks Maxzhy Feb 18, 2004

Where did you pick that one up Maxzhy? I tried it with "Definiere" in German, but it didn't work. It seems to look in glossaries. So this may be a quick way of finding relevant glossaries.

What a good little trick! How did you find out?

It does not seem to work in Dutch, unfortunately...

Saskia

In advance search Feb 18, 2004

type "glossary" in the first line and the word or phrase searched for in the second.

This often works in French for "glossaire", and sometimes gives results in Spanish for "glosario".

It may also help to type "English", "français" or the target language in the first line. (This is bound to call up bilingual versions for the term sought).

Google tells me that in its help file. Feb 19, 2004

I read Google's help file the other day and was really excited when I read about "define: ...".

Since most terms have been available in common dictionaries including e-dictionaries, I take it as my last ray of hope when I can't find a particular term in those dictionaries.

Glad to know it is helpful for you.
